The Cosmos In Brass

If a pocket watch could hold a galaxy, this would be it, and that is precisely why it lives in my favorite cabinet. One half is intricate brass clockwork in a sweeping yin-yang curl, the other a cracked window onto deep purple-and-gold nebula. Time and the universe, sealed in a single ornate locket. I open the display light just to watch the stars inside.
